Mathematical computing software major, Mathworks, is to conduct a webinar on 'Optimizing Vehicle Suspension Design through System Level Simulation' on Tuesday, February 21, 2012, between 3-4 p.m. Indian Standard Time.
The optimization of vehicle ride and handling performance needs to meet many competing requirements. For example, vibration in the frequency range that causes driver discomfort needs to be minimized, which requires decreasing suspension stiffness. Yet, the suspension deflection should stay within travel constraints, so suspension stiffness needs to be increased. The traditional practice of relying on test cars for suspension development is time consuming and costly.
In the webinar, MathWorks will demonstrate a simulation-led design approach, that reduces reliance on test vehicles and produces the best results possible. The approach starts with the development of a fast and accurate vehicle model in Simscape, captures frequency response and suspension travel requirements in Simulink Design Optimization, and ends by automated optimization of suspension parameters to meet performance requirements.
A Question and Answer session will follow the presentation and demos.
