    Solar Energy and the micro-inverters
New disruptive technology could increase solar output by as much as 25%
    Green SupplyLine

Many factors affect the performance of solar energy systems. Cloudiness, dust and dirt, shade, obstruction shading, inter-row shading - and the unseen element of a solar module that is under-performing and affecting the output of the entire system.

Premier Power is using new, micro-inverter technology from Enphase (Petaluma, CA) that monitors each of the solar modules, not just the entire system, so it's possible to tell if a solar module is under-producing - or not producing at all. Up until now, monitoring systems could not isolate and monitor individual solar modules.

More power, lower costs, better investment

The new micro-inverter system is a set of small units that connect directly to each solar module to convert DC power into grid-compliant AC power, transmitting valuable performance data on each module to the system owner. The result is more power, a more reliable system, and the ability to monitor and respond quickly to performance issues.

New solar technology to maximize the energy harvest

Tests show systems using these micro-inverters increase energy harvest by as much as 25% over systems using traditional inverters. Another benefit of the distributed micro-inverter design is the potential for installations to be expanded over time. And, if one micro-inverter fails, the rest continue to operate as usual and can be replaced during routine maintenance or when convenient.
