ADI appoints execs to product groups
    Industrial Control Designline
MANHASSET, NY — Analog Devices Inc. has restructured reponsibilities of its division executives along product and application areas to better leverage the company's strenghts in signal processing technologies.

ADI appointed Michael Britchfield to the position of vice president of the Industrial and Instrumentation group. It has also expanded roles for vice presidents Robert McAdam and Vincent Roche.

And ADI promoted David Robertson to vice president of analog technology.

McAdam will lead the Core Products and Technologies (CPT) group and Roche will head the new Strategic Market Segments (SMS) group, focusing on integrating ADI technology in various application areas.

Britchfield's group will address end markets including factory automation, robotics process and motor controls, energy meters, automatic test equipment, and scientific instrumentation.

"By creating a focused industrial and instrumentation segment team, we are accelerating and solidifying what ADI has been doing for its industrial and instrumentation customers for decades," commented Mike Britchfield, vice president, Industrial and Instrumentation, Analog Devices, in a statement.

A new energy team also has been formed reporting to Britchfield.

Semiconductor market research firm Databeans forecasts analog revenue within the industrial sector to reach $3.9 billion in 2009 and analog revenue within the industrial sector to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 8 percent over the forecasted period until it reaches $5.7 billion by 2014.
