ChatTime Reduces Cost of Calling to India for 70% Savings vs Skype

ChatTime Reduces Cost of Calling to India for 70% Savings vs Skype

PR Newswire

MIAMI, May 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- SmartRoam, the developer of ChatTime -- the highly successful and award-winning free and low cost international calling application for the iPhone, have reduced their per-minute calling rate to Indian landlines and cell phones to only 2.9 cents per minute for pay-as-you-go users. 2.9 cents a minute represents a savings of 58% over the previous ChatTime rate and an amazing 70% savings compared to Skype. In addition, ChatTime offers calling plans as low as 1/2 cent per minute for the Asia Pacific subscription plan which includes calls to India.

ChatTime's new India calling rates are even more spectacular given that ChatTime uses the cellular network to send the call, not Wi-Fi or 3G. Using the cellular network provides callers the freedom to make amazing sounding calls anytime and anywhere, without having to sacrifice call quality for lower priced calls.

On the rate change, Charles Tidswell, V.P. of Marketing at SmartRoam, developers of the ChatTime application said: "We have seen an incredible appetite for calling to India, from customers both on pay-as-you-go and unlimited plans. India now represents about 25% of all traffic, and with the reduction in calling rates we expect this to increase further."

If you are an iPhone user and make international calls, download ChatTime from the App Store by clicking here. Each new ChatTime account includes US$1 trial credit, which is equivalent to 34 minutes of free talk time to India.
