ANADIGICS' 3G PAs power LG Electronics' ARENA handsets
Three Different ANADIGICS PAs are Being Used to Power LG Electronics' European, Asian and South/Central American ARENA (KM900) Handsets
    Mobile Handset DesignLine

ANADIGICS, Inc. announced that its AWT6224, AWT6321 and AWT6222 3G dual-band power amplifier (PA) modules are being used in LG Electronics' ARENA (KM900) multimedia, touch screen handsets for the European, Asian and Central/South American markets.

The LG KM900 ARENA offers a 3-inch, 262K color touchscreen display. It provides tri-band GSM and 3G support, Wi-Fi, and GPS connectivity, as well as Bluetooth and USB. Running on a new user interface dubbed as S-class, the LG ARENA will be powered by a 1000 mAh battery that is said to last for 300 hours of standby or 3 hours and 50 minutes of talk time. It also features Mobile TV and a five megapixel built-in camera, which records DVD-quality videos.

All three of the PA modules used in the LG ARENA are available in identical 3mm x 5mm packages which reduce RF board area requirements and simplify the layout.

    ANADIGICS Product Specs
    - The AWT6224 is a dual-band WCDMA/HSPA PA optimized for 3G connections in UMTS bands 1 and 8.
    - The AWT6321 is dual-band CDMA/EVDO PA designed for cell and PCS-band connections.
    - AWT6222 dual-band WCDMA/HSPA PA for 3G connections in UMTS bands 1 and 6.

All three devices have been developed using ANADIGICS' HELP3 (high efficiency at low power) technology, which reduces average current consumption by 75% and provides up to 25% increased talk time in 3G handsets. All three devices also use ANADIGICS' proprietary InGaP-Plus technology for state-of-the-art reliability, temperature stability and ruggedness.
